The Attorney-General's Department administers the granting of permission to import certain types of firearms and firearm related articles under the regulatory
scheme set out in the
Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 (the Regulations).
The importation of firearms and firearm-related articles (including accessories, parts, magazines, ammunition, components of ammunition and imitation firearms)
is controlled under the Regulations. Articles must meet import test, serial number and safety testing requirements.
There is no fee for making this application.
You must complete this form in one session—it cannot be saved and returned to at a later time. Once you begin your session you will have 24 hours to complete the form, or your information will be lost.
